Mission

For us at The Crossings, mission must be where the entrance of Christ into culture takes place.  Mission is selflessness through service and giving amidst a culture of materialism and consumerism.  Mission is authentic community manifesting in the face of an individualistic society.  Mission is living an authentic life while surrounded by those displaying the predominant suburban façade.  Mission is Christ manifest through community and virally spreading throughout culture.

Although mission is a lifestyle that we live, we have also established a couple partnerships that allow us to serve locally and globally.

Locally, we deeply believe in the mission of the Katy Pregnancy Help Center.  We have painted, pulled weeds, fund raised, and much more in an effort to come a long side of the PHC in their mission of life.

Locally, beginning within the first month of our existence as a church, we began working with the local Sudanese population.  This partnership is through a wonderful organization called Aid Sudan.  We have served them through various lifestyle classes as well as providing Christmas gifts to those unable to have them.

Globally, we set foot on the other side of the world just 7 months after we began worshiping as a church.  God led us to establish a relationship with several different ministries in the Philippines.  We have a long-term strategy to aid in a church planting ministry in the area surrounding Dumaguete.  We plan to take our second Philippine trip during the summer of 2008.

We have also developed a partnership with a family who works in central Asia. This wonderful family resides in Katy while home and often worships at The Crossings. This family of five works among the Whitecap Muslims (a Sunni sect) where there are approximately one million people, yet 5 who follow Jesus without a single church. Their God given mission is to see lives transformed and churches multiplying. It is our joy to partner with them financially and prayerfully.

These are just a few of the significant relationships that we have made in our effort to be a resource to the community locally as well as a messenger and servant to the community globally.  Come and join this exciting journey with us!
