Who is Your Daddy and What Does He Do?
This Father’s Day message takes a fresh look at the story of the prodigal son, not from the son’s view but from the heart of the father. In Luke 15, Jesus paints a picture of a father who does not just wait at the door. He runs to meet his son with compassion and grace.
Whether you have wandered far or stayed close but grown cold, this message is a reminder of the kind of Father God truly is. He lets us go, but He never stops loving us. He moves toward us, not away. And He loves all His children, no matter their story.
Come discover what it means to know who your Father really is and how that changes everything.
Day 1: The Father’s Love Lets Us Go, But Never Leaves Us
Reading: Luke 15:11–16
A loving father allows his children the freedom to make their own choices, even when those choices lead them far from home. In Jesus’ parable, the younger son demands his inheritance and walks away, turning his back on the father’s presence. The father lets him go, but never stops loving him. He watches, he waits, and he longs for the moment his son will return.
God does the same for us. He never forces a relationship but patiently waits with love and hope. Even when we make a mess of things, His heart is full of compassion. No matter how far we wander, we are never beyond His reach. His love remains steady and His eyes are on the road, waiting for our return.
Reflection: Is there an area of your life where you have chosen your own way over God’s? Can you sense Him patiently waiting for you to return today?
