Brick by Brick: A Teaching Series in Nehemiah

This past Sunday, Pastor Justin walked us through Nehemiah 3 and reminded us that building the Kingdom of God is not a solo effort. It takes all of us. Nehemiah 3 is a chapter full of names and assignments—people building the wall right where they lived, each one taking responsibility for a section.

It’s not flashy, but it’s deeply meaningful. God used ordinary people with ordinary tools to accomplish something extraordinary. And that’s still how He works. The message was clear—every believer has a role. Not just the pastor. Not just the leaders. All of us.

Pastor Justin challenged us to stop being consumers of church and start being contributors to the mission. The question was not, “What do I get out of church?” but “What am I building where I am?” God’s strategy is still the same—He puts people in place and says, "Start building."

Coming Up This Sunday: Week 4 – "We Shall Overcome"

This Sunday, June 8, we will move into Nehemiah 4 with a message called We Shall Overcome. The work is underway, but so is the opposition. The people face ridicule, threats, and discouragement. Nehemiah responds with prayer and action. He arms the workers and reminds them why they are building. He tells them to fight for their families, their homes, and their future.

We will look at how to respond when building gets hard and how to stand firm when the pressure rises. If you have ever felt like giving up or wondered if the work is worth it, this message is for you.

Invite someone to come with you. Let’s keep building together, brick by brick.

Blessings,

Pastor Phil

Who is Your Daddy and what does he do?

Father's Day Message:

Who is Your Daddy and What does he Do?

This message explores the deep, pursuing love of God through the eyes of the father in the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15). Instead of focusing on the rebellion of the son, we look at the heart of the father—a heart that waits, watches, and runs toward the one who wandered.

God isn’t distant or passive. He’s a loving Father who longs for restoration, who doesn’t shame us when we return, and who welcomes us with open arms. Whether you’ve drifted far from Him or stayed close but grown cold, this message is a reminder: the Father’s love never stops reaching.

Can We Trust the Bible?

Hello Church Family!

One of the questions people ask all the time, whether they grew up in church or not, is “Can we really trust the Bible?” It’s a fair question. We live in a world that questions everything and is quick to label Scripture as outdated, edited, or unreliable. But if we believe the Bible is God's Word, we need to know why that’s true and be ready to talk about it with others.

Here are a few simple ways to think about the reliability of the Bible:

1. The Bible wasn’t just passed down. It was preserved.
The Bible didn’t survive for thousands of years by accident. The people who copied the Scriptures were careful and dedicated. We have thousands of early manuscripts that match up with amazing consistency. It’s not a game of telephone. It’s more like an ancient filing system with layers of backup.

2. Jesus believed the Bible was true.
This one really matters. Jesus quoted the Old Testament often and treated the people and events in it as real. If Jesus trusted Scripture and we follow Him, that should shape how we see it too.

3. The New Testament was written early and shared widely.
Some people think the Gospels were written hundreds of years later and filled with legends. That’s just not true. Most of the New Testament was written within a generation of the events. Eyewitnesses were still around. These writings were quickly shared among churches across the Roman world and used in worship and teaching.

4. It still speaks today.
If the Bible was just an old book of advice, it would have faded out a long time ago. But people from every background and generation keep finding truth, hope, and conviction in its pages. It continues to change lives. That’s because it’s alive. God still speaks through it. It reads us while we read it.

At The Crossings, we believe the Bible is not just reliable, it is essential. It helps us know God, follow Jesus, and understand who we are. If you have questions or doubts, bring them. This is a place where honest questions are welcome. Just don’t settle for surface-level opinions. Open the book. See what’s really in there. The truth can handle it.

Stay encouraged and grounded in His truth!

Pastor Justin Wyckoff
