Unstoppable The Church on Mission

Week 1: The Mission Begins - Empowered by the Spirit (Acts 1:1-11)

Dear Crossings Family,

This Sunday, we kick off an exciting new series journeying together through the Book of Acts; a powerful account of the early church that aligns perfectly with our current vision and mission as a growing, Spirit-empowered community here in Brunswick.

In Acts 1:1-11, we see the disciples at a pivotal moment. Jesus is commissioning them for His mission and promising power through the Holy Spirit. Like them, we too are called as followers of Christ to be on mission everywhere we go: “…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses…” (Acts 1:8). These timeless words echo powerfully in our lives at The Crossings.

Just as the early believers relied fully on the Holy Spirit's power and guidance to share the Gospel, plant healthy churches, and disciple new believers, our church is intentionally pursuing the same biblical model. Acts isn’t merely a historical account; it’s a living template for how we as a church family can thrive spiritually, engaging our community authentically and effectively.

As we dive into Acts, let us together embrace our role relying on the Spirit’s power, being bold witnesses, loving our neighbors passionately, and building a community focused on Jesus. Each week will inspire us toward clearer Gospel proclamation, deeper spiritual growth, and stronger leadership development.

This series will challenge and encourage us all to step deeper into the purpose God has for us to live lives marked by faith, hope, and spiritual influence and to intentionally reach our community for Christ.

Looking forward to Sunday!

Blessings,

Pastor Justin

Next steps this week:

  • Prayerfully ask God where and to whom He is sending you personally as His witness.
  • Consider inviting a friend or family member this Sunday as we begin this transformative journey together through Acts.
  • Join a small group or volunteer ministry team to practically live out the mission we're learning from Acts. Let's talk this Sunday about steps you can take to fully embrace Christ's unstoppable mission!
Grace Fellowship Singalong

Grace Fellowship Church's First Ever Singalong Worship Night

We are excited to invite you to a special evening of spiritual fellowship organized by Elevate Student Ministry designed to unite hearts from churches across our community. Inspired by Matthew 18:20, this event promises a powerful blend of contemporary worship, uplifting scripture readings, meaningful prayer, and reflective moments. We hope these elements foster not only personal connection with God but also genuine fellowship and lasting relationships within our wider faith family.

The night begins on 8/24/2025 between 5pm and 7pm. This night is open to people of all ages and backgrounds, and childcare will be provided for infants through fourth graders by our dedicated Elevate Student Ministries Team so everyone can fully participate. Prayer Walk Wednesday: Covering Brunswick in Prayer

On Wednesday, July 2, a small group from The Crossings Church stepped out to cover another part of Brunswick in prayer. Pastor Phil, Miss Kris, Samya, Dylan, and Cory walked the neighborhood behind the Ace Hardware shopping center, including the Maple Terrace Apartments and a section of nearby townhouses.

As they walked, they prayed for the families who live there, asking God to bring peace, hope, and provision to each home. It was a meaningful time of inviting God to work in the lives of people throughout the community.

The Crossings will continue these prayer walks in the coming weeks, moving through different neighborhoods across Brunswick. Everyone is welcome to join. You do not have to pray out loud. Just show up with a heart to care for your neighbors and walk with others who believe in the power of prayer.

Together, we are asking God to do something great in Brunswick. Come be part of it.
