Unstoppable:The Church on Mission
The book of Acts is the story of how the Holy Spirit used ordinary people to launch an extraordinary movement—the Church. From Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, the mission of God moved forward through bold preaching, sacrificial living, and Spirit-empowered obedience. That same mission is still alive today. In this 15-week series, we’ll walk through the book of Acts and discover how God wants to use us—right here, right now—as part of His unstoppable plan to bring hope to the world.
Day 1: Prayer Before Power
Scripture: Acts 1:14
“All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer…”
Reflection:
Before Pentecost, before growth, before miracles—the early church prayed. They didn’t start planning, preaching, or programming. They waited on God together. This kind of prayer was not passive. It was active dependence. It reminds us that lasting spiritual work never begins with human effort. It begins with people on their knees.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to stop rushing ahead and learn to wait on you. Teach me to pray with others and trust your timing.
Challenge:
Schedule a time this week to pray with someone about something bigger than either of you can control.
