Unstoppable:The Church on Mission

The book of Acts is the story of how the Holy Spirit used ordinary people to launch an extraordinary movement—the Church. From Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, the mission of God moved forward through bold preaching, sacrificial living, and Spirit-empowered obedience. That same mission is still alive today. In this 15-week series, we’ll walk through the book of Acts and discover how God wants to use us—right here, right now—as part of His unstoppable plan to bring hope to the world.

Day 5 — Obey God Rather Than Men

Scripture: Acts 5:27–29; Daniel 3:16–18
Devotional Thought: Defiance is not our brand, but it is our boundary. When human commands collide with Christ’s commands, we obey Jesus and accept the cost without bitterness.
Reflection: Name one situation where pleasing people competes with obeying Christ. What would faithfulness look like this week?
Action: Draw a simple “decision line” on paper. Above it, write Jesus’ clear call. Below it, list pressures to compromise. Pray, then choose one brave step.
Prayer: Lord, give me a clean conscience, a gentle tone, and a brave will. I choose your voice over every other.
