Home for Christmas

What does it really mean to come home for Christmas?

The story of Jesus’ birth is often told in warm, familiar ways, but behind it is a journey filled with exhaustion, uncertainty, fear, and waiting. Mary and Joseph didn’t welcome Jesus in comfort or familiarity. They welcomed Him far from home, under pressure, and without knowing what would come next.

These posts explore the birth of Christ through the lens of longing for home, not just a physical place, but the deeper sense of peace, rest, and belonging we all crave.

If you are tired, anxious, or feeling far from where you want to be, this reflection invites you to slow down and consider the hope, comfort, and rest Jesus offers, not only someday in heaven, but right now.

Day 3: Home Is More Than a Place

Scripture: Psalm 40:1–2

Devotional Thought:
Home is not just a physical space. Scripture describes home as being lifted from despair and placed on solid ground. God offers stability when life feels uncertain and chaotic.

Reflection Question:
What does home mean to you, and how does God redefine that idea in your life?

Prayer:
God, lift me out of the places where I feel stuck. Set my feet on the firm foundation of Your truth.
