Home for Christmas

What does it really mean to come home for Christmas?

The story of Jesus’ birth is often told in warm, familiar ways, but behind it is a journey filled with exhaustion, uncertainty, fear, and waiting. Mary and Joseph didn’t welcome Jesus in comfort or familiarity. They welcomed Him far from home, under pressure, and without knowing what would come next.

These posts explore the birth of Christ through the lens of longing for home, not just a physical place, but the deeper sense of peace, rest, and belonging we all crave.

If you are tired, anxious, or feeling far from where you want to be, this reflection invites you to slow down and consider the hope, comfort, and rest Jesus offers, not only someday in heaven, but right now.

Day 5: Come Home to Jesus

Scripture: Matthew 11:28–30

Devotional Thought:
Jesus invites the weary, the broken, and the burdened to come to Him. Coming home to Christ means surrendering control and allowing Him to carry what we were never meant to bear alone.

Reflection Question:
What burden do you need to lay down at Jesus’ feet today?

Prayer:
Jesus, I come to You tired and worn. Teach me to rest in You and trust You with my life.
