Unstoppable:The Church on Mission

The book of Acts is the story of how the Holy Spirit used ordinary people to launch an extraordinary movement—the Church. From Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, the mission of God moved forward through bold preaching, sacrificial living, and Spirit-empowered obedience. That same mission is still alive today. In this 15-week series, we’ll walk through the book of Acts and discover how God wants to use us—right here, right now—as part of His unstoppable plan to bring hope to the world.

Day 1: When Guilt Turns Loud

Scripture: Acts 7:54
Big idea: Guilt often shows up as anger.

Those leaders were not just annoyed. They were enraged. They ground their teeth. They lost control. Why? Because Stephen didn’t just disagree with them. He exposed them.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth: some of the strongest anger we’ve ever felt wasn’t because we were right. It was because we were being proven wrong. Even worse, we were being shown something in us that needed to change.

Ask yourself today: when I get defensive, what am I protecting? Pride? An image? Control? A habit I don’t want to let go of?

Jesus doesn’t expose us to shame us. He exposes us to heal us. Conviction is not condemnation. It’s an invitation to come clean and come home.

Prayer: Jesus, when You put Your finger on something in me, help me soften instead of fight. Give me the courage to repent.
Call to action: Notice your triggers today. When anger rises, pause and ask, “What am I afraid to admit?”
