Unstoppable:The Church on Mission

The book of Acts is the story of how the Holy Spirit used ordinary people to launch an extraordinary movement—the Church. From Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, the mission of God moved forward through bold preaching, sacrificial living, and Spirit-empowered obedience. That same mission is still alive today. In this 15-week series, we’ll walk through the book of Acts and discover how God wants to use us—right here, right now—as part of His unstoppable plan to bring hope to the world.

Day 3: The Gospel Does What Darkness Can’t

Read: Acts 8:12–13
Focus: The gospel doesn’t just impress people, it changes them.

When Philip preached Jesus, the whole situation shifted. The crowd didn’t just get entertained. They believed. They got baptized. Their loyalties changed. Even Simon was amazed. That’s what the gospel does. It doesn’t need smoke and mirrors. It brings real freedom, real cleansing, real hope, real joy.

The enemy can copy the appearance of power, but he cannot give new life. He can stir fear. He can stir obsession. He can stir addiction. But he cannot make you new. Only Jesus does that.

Daily step: Say out loud today: “Jesus is stronger than what has been pulling me.” Then take one concrete step toward Him.

Prayer: Jesus, transform me where I’ve only tried to manage myself.
