The Unlikeliest Hero
He Didn’t Look Like a Champion… But He Won the Greatest Fight in History.
The world expected a warrior, a king with power and might. Instead, Jesus came as a servant, stepping into the greatest battle of all time—against sin, death, and the forces of darkness. He fought not with fists, but with sacrifice. The enemy thought he had won. But then… Sunday came.
Day 4: Advancing the Kingdom through Humility
Jesus’ kingdom advances through humility, sacrifice, and love, not power or dominance. As followers, we are called to embody these values, even when it costs us something. This call to humility and sacrifice is not easy, but it is the path to true spiritual growth and transformation. By setting aside our own desires and ambitions, we allow God to work through us for His glory. This involves surrendering our desires and allowing God to shape us into His image, rather than trying to mold Him into ours.
1 Peter 5:5-6 (ESV): “Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’ Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”
Reflection: How can you demonstrate humility and love in your interactions with others today? What specific actions can you take to advance God’s kingdom in your community?
