Psalm 51 & Repentance

Psalm 51 shows that real repentance is not trying harder but receiving God’s mercy. In this message we unpack how God opens our eyes, breaks our hearts over sin, and creates in us a new heart that restores joy, worship, and witness. Scriptures include Psalm 51, Acts 11:18, 2 Corinthians 7:10, Ezekiel 36:26–27, and 1 John 1:8–9.

Day 3: Godly Sorrow vs. Worldly Sorrow

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 7:10; Proverbs 8:13
Devotional Thought: Worldly sorrow hates consequences. Godly sorrow hates sin because it offends a holy God. One produces short-term behavior tweaks. The other produces repentance that leads to life.
Reflection Question: When you feel regret, is it mostly about what you lost, or about how your sin grieves God?
Prayer: Holy God, teach my heart to hate what You hate and love what You love. Let my grief be God-centered, not self-centered.
Action Step: Identify one trigger that leads you back into a pattern. Replace that moment with Scripture and prayer this week.
