Unstoppable:The Church on Mission

The book of Acts is the story of how the Holy Spirit used ordinary people to launch an extraordinary movement—the Church. From Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, the mission of God moved forward through bold preaching, sacrificial living, and Spirit-empowered obedience. That same mission is still alive today. In this 15-week series, we’ll walk through the book of Acts and discover how God wants to use us—right here, right now—as part of His unstoppable plan to bring hope to the world.

Day 2 – Character Over Title

Scripture: 1 Timothy 3:8–9

Devotional Thought:
Paul starts the deacon list with character, not tasks. Deacons must be worthy of respect, sincere, not double-tongued, not greedy, and holding the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. Before anyone ever gets a title, God looks at their life. How they talk. How they handle temptation. How they carry the gospel in real time. The church needs men and women whose lives already match what the office requires. The title should confirm who they are, not create who they are.

Reflection Question:
If people only had your daily life to look at, what would they conclude about what you believe?

Prayer:
Father, shape my character before You ever give me a title. Make me honest, steady, and sincere so that my life lines up with the gospel I claim to believe.
