Unstoppable:The Church on Mission

The book of Acts is the story of how the Holy Spirit used ordinary people to launch an extraordinary movement—the Church. From Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, the mission of God moved forward through bold preaching, sacrificial living, and Spirit-empowered obedience. That same mission is still alive today. In this 15-week series, we’ll walk through the book of Acts and discover how God wants to use us—right here, right now—as part of His unstoppable plan to bring hope to the world.

Day 4: Forgiveness in Real Time

Scripture: Acts 7:59–60
Big idea: Forgiveness is not a feeling. It’s a surrender.

Stephen is being murdered, and he prays, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” That is not natural. That is supernatural.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay. It means you’re choosing not to carry poison in your chest for the rest of your life. It means you trust Jesus to judge rightly, and you refuse to become what hurt you.

Sometimes forgiveness starts as a sentence you can barely say: “Jesus, help me want to forgive.”

Start there.

Prayer: Jesus, I don’t have it in me to forgive on my own. Give me Your heart.
Call to action: Name one person you’re holding resentment toward. Pray for them by name today, even if it’s through clenched teeth.
