What We Believe
The Crossings Community Church exists under the lordship of Jesus Christ. We are committed to holding fast to the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3).
Our Statement of Faith outlines the core doctrines we believe are essential for all members. These truths represent our shared convictions and shape our understanding of God, humanity, salvation, and the Church. Members of The Crossings are asked to affirm these beliefs as a foundation for shared life and mission.

Scripture and Revelation
God has made Himself known through His creation, through His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Scriptures. The Bible is God’s inspired Word, true and trustworthy in everything it teaches. It reveals who God is, what He has done, and how we are to live. The Bible is our highest authority in matters of belief and practice.
Scripture Reference: 2 Timothy 3:16–17, Hebrews 1:1–2, Psalm 19:7–11
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He entered our world through the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to atone for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended into heaven. One day He will return to judge the living and the dead and to fully establish His kingdom.
Scripture Reference: John 1:1–14, Colossians 1:15–20, Philippians 2:5–11, Acts 1:11
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence with us and in us. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates hearts, gives spiritual gifts, and empowers believers to live holy lives. He comforts, counsels, and leads the Church in truth. The Spirit works in every believer to make us more like Christ.
Scripture Reference: John 14:26, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:22–23, Romans 8:9–11
Evangelical Faith
We joyfully affirm our place in the broader evangelical tradition. This means we are committed to the good news that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We emphasize the authority of Scripture, the necessity of personal conversion, the urgency of gospel mission, and the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and the church.
Scripture Reference: Ephesians 2:8–9, Romans 10:9–15, 1 Peter 1:23–25
Reformed Foundations
Our church is shaped by Reformed theology, which highlights the sovereign grace of God, the centrality of Scripture, and the Lordship of Christ over all of life. We hold to believer’s baptism and celebrate the Lord’s Supper as ordinances of the church. These convictions guide how we worship, serve, and disciple others.
Scripture Reference: Romans 8:28–30, Ephesians 1:3–14, 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
Historic Creeds
We stand in agreement with the Apostles’, Nicene, and Chalcedonian Creeds as faithful summaries of Christian belief. These ancient statements help us remain rooted in historic orthodoxy while joining in unity with the global and timeless Church. They are not Scripture, but they are rich in truth drawn from it.
Scripture Reference: 1 Timothy 3:16, Jude 1:3, 2 Thessalonians 2:15
Theological Distinctives
Our theological distinctives help shape the character and direction of our church. These are areas where we bring clarity to our teaching and leadership. While agreement with every distinctive is not required for membership, we ask that members understand they influence how we lead, disciple, and structure our ministries.
Scripture Reference: Romans 14:5, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Ephesians 4:11–13

Imago Dei
The Image of God
All people are created in the Image of God and that changes everything. It changes how we view and interact with others, as well as the issues that we care about as believers. Every life matters because every life is created in the image of God.
